The Paper Route

Privacy Policy

Effective October 22, 2026

The short version: The Paper Route doesn’t collect or store your personal data. There’s no account, no advertising and no tracking, and we never build a profile of what you read.

What stays on your iPhone

The stories you’ve read, the stories you follow, your searches and your settings are stored only on your device. We can’t see them. Deleting the app deletes them.

What we don’t collect

How the news gets to you

About every 15 minutes our system reads publishers’ public news feeds and publishes a single news file. Your app downloads that same file, which is identical for every reader. It’s delivered through Cloudflare and built on Google Cloud. Like any web service, those providers process standard technical information such as your IP address to deliver the file and protect against abuse. We don’t use it to identify you, and we don’t combine it with anything else.

Notifications

If you turn on notifications, your iPhone registers its choices (major breaking news, and the stories you follow) with Apple’s iCloud, and Apple delivers the alerts. We send each alert to Apple once; Apple decides which devices receive it. We don’t receive your device token, your Apple ID or the list of stories you follow. Notifications require being signed in to iCloud, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings.

Publishers’ websites and images

Photos load directly from each publisher’s servers, and full articles open on the publisher’s own website, inside a Safari view. Those sites have their own privacy policies and may use cookies or tracking under their own terms. The Paper Route doesn’t share anything with them beyond the normal request your device makes to load the page or image.

Children

The Paper Route is a general news app and isn’t directed at children under 13. Because we don’t collect personal information, we don’t knowingly collect any from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date. If we ever start collecting any data, we’ll say so here and in the App Store’s privacy details first.
